Riccar has always done things a little differently. As other manufacturers closed factories in the USA to take advantage of cheaper overseas production, Riccar did just the opposite. In 1998, Riccar moved its upright vacuum cleaner production from Taiwan to St. James, Missouri. And since they have expanded their factory three times. This move enabled them to build more quality into every Riccar upright and in turn extend their warranties.
Quality. Durability. Intuitive design. These are the things you find with American made products and finding such items is becoming more and more rare. When you see Made in the USA on the label, you know you’re getting a product made for Americans by Americans.
While some manufacturers promote "Buy American" as the patriotic thing to do, we believe there's much more in it for you than just making Uncle Sam proud. In buying a Riccar vacuum, you'll get a powerful machine designed not only to handle the surface dirt but actually pull the deeply embedded dirt out of even the plushest carpets commonly found in American homes, although virtually no where else in the world. Plus, our nostalgia for "the good old days" back when things were built to last, keeps us using metal components throughout our vacuums so that years down the road your vacuum will be running just like the first time you ever turned it on. While we pride ourselves on being able to make our products in the US, we're more interested in building vacuums Americans love to own.
